What’s NEXT? Meet Cineuropa at the Cannes Film Market

Cinema is going through some changes: crowdfunding, theatrical on demand, transmedia, multi-platforms and multi-territory distribution… The Cannes Film Market, part of the 67th Cannes Film Festival, is aware of this and is, for the first time, introducing NEXT this year, a new pavilion dedicated to the future of cinema.

The venue, situated in the heart of the Village International Pantiero, will host a broad programme of round-tables, workshops, special presentations and networking events with leading players on the next step towards new economic models and forms of storytelling. “One of the goals of the Marché is to anticipate the needs of our participants, and to explore and highlight as far as possible new potential and possibilities for the film industry,” explained Jérôme Paillard, executive director of the Cannes Film Market.

Among the highlights of the activities that the pavilion will host are round-tables on the realities of a digital demand-driven age and on models to work the crowds, build awareness and empower audiences; and workshops on new platforms and applications. Alongside them, a wide range of exhibitors will be present to share their brand-new ideas and models with the market participants, including B3 Biennial of the Moving Image, Cinext, Connect4Climate, Cross Video Days, Gathr Films, IndieFlix, Kweb’s Movie Hunters, Mubi, Power to the Pixel, Touscoprod, Wallimage and We Want Cinema.

Cineuropa is also a partner of the NEXT pavilion and will be present at the venue during the entire market. Anyone interested can secure a meeting with us.
