Ten key points to reflect on in order to become the best version of Italian, successful cinema. This was the proposal launched yesterday during a conference organised by the IFC Association of Italian Film Commissions during the Cannes Film Festival.

President Stefania Ippoliti (Tuscan FC), vice-president Cristina Priarone (Rome-Lazio FC) and Nerina Satta (Sardinia) talked of a rulebook for future operations in the industry and a stimulus for new culture minister Dario Franceschini.

The cinema director at MibactNicola Borrelli, concluded the event stating: “Italian cinema is reaching positive results, it is among the best performing across Europe in terms of market quota and awards. According to the European observatory, there are seven Italian films among the top national twenty and the state only contributes up to 20%. But a majority of films are destined to the national market and few are sold abroad.”

The cinema directorate announced the birth of an online bilingual platform in collaboration with IFC, which will aim to export cultural, professional and industrial resources from Italian cinema.
