by Paolo Sorrentino literally triumphed at the 58th David di Donatello awards, leaving very little for the other candidates. The award ceremony took place last night on June 10 in Rome. Best director went to Sorrentino for The Great Beauty, which won a total of nine awards – including best actor (Toni Servillo), producer and photography. Best film went to Human Capital, which won seven David awards including best screenplay, best actress (Valeria Bruni Tedeschi), best supporting actor and actress (Fabrizio Gifuni and Valeria Golino), and best editing.
