EFP presents ten European films and their directors at the KVIFF
Calvary by John Michael McDonagh

With the aim of spotlighting new, groundbreaking European cinema and the directing talent behind it, European Film Promotion (EFP) is supporting the “Variety Critics’ Choice: Europe Now!” sidebar now in its 17th year at the prestigious Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (KVIFF). In close cooperation with the festival and the trade magazine Variety, EFP will be introducing ten directors and their films to the public, film industry and press during two days of events and screenings on July 6 and 7.

(United Kingdom). In this way these films continue their successful festival circuit in which some have been awarded more than once.

Cineuropa is a partner of this event and, like in previous years (read our 2013 coverage), we'll be interviewing all ten selected filmmakers.

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (July 4-12) is as a key international event acting as a bridge between the countries and cultures of West, Central and Eastern Europe, and a melting pot and forum for filmmakers, producers, distributors, sales agents, festival programmers and the press. The EFP will support the selected films with financial backing provided by the MEDIA Programme and the ten participating EFP member organisations.
