The new Creative Europe Desk Media Italy – Bari was presented yesterday at the Cineport in Bari. It aims to promote and facilitate access by industry businesses and operators to Community funding within the Creative Europe Programme; funds for the period 2014-2020 amount to 1.46 billion euro. The Media Bari Office is the first of its kind in Southern Italy and came about as an important recognition of the regional efforts targeted at supporting cultural and creative industry, in particular the audiovisual industry.
In Puglia, indeed, in the last three years 55.5 million euro of additional resources have been invested, that have contributed to the increase in the number of events, viewers and tickets as well as the growth in the flow of tourists and visitors to the region. The whole Cultural and Creative industries sector has thus grown, registering around 4,800 cultural enterprises and 8,000 operators (around 4% of the national figure) in the entire region to the benefit of all sectors of the production industry.

In particular, the Media offices offer expert advice to industry operators on the sub-programme (info on tenders, audiovisual markets and ongoing training activities at the European level), they publish magazines, brochures, promotional and electronic material concerning their activities, they organise Creative Europe MEDIA Info Days aimed at ensuring the promotion of Media and at facilitating access to Community support, and they provide networking opportunities between European professionals.
