Lisbon Docs: 15th edition to be held from 14-18 October
by Vitor Pinto
- The submission deadline for projects is 15 August
The 15th edition of Lisbon Docs (an international financing and co-production forum for documentary films) will take place from 14-18 October 2014, as part of the 12th Doclisboa – International Film Festival. Organised by Apordoc, the forum will welcome developing projects from filmmakers around the world, as well as a team of international film experts selected by the European Documentary Network (EDN).
Firstly, during the workshops sessions held from 14-16 October, participants will develop their projects under the guidance of tutors. Workshops will be followed by the Public Pitching Session (17-18 October), with all projects to be pitched to a panel of commissioning editors and decision makers from documentary funding institutions and leading channels in international co-productions. Lastly, the forum is also scheduling a series of individual meetings between participants and financiers to discuss the potential for further collaboration.
After the Lisbon forum, winners of the pitching session will receive follow-up consultancy by the EDN team, which includes the participation in an online pitch held a couple of months later. Winners are then expected to show the progress that has been made in the development of their projects and also to reach decision makers who had not attended the Lisbon forum.
Potential participants can submit their projects until 15 August.
