Written by the director and Lise Machebeuf (the filmmaker’s usual partner), the story is set in a little village at the height of a particularly hot summer. Joseph Bousou, son of a gypsy scrap merchant family is found stabbed to death. An investigation is opened, revealing the rising fever that gripped the entire village during the months before the tragedy…

Produced by Miléna Poylo and Gilles Sacuto for TS Productions, Coup de Chaud has been pre-bought by Canal+ and Cine+. The feature film also has support from the Aquintaine region (where the film was shot up until the beginning of October), the Lot-et-Garonne department and Sofica La Banque Postale Image. Distribution in France will be carried out by Diaphana and foreign sales will be managed by Doc & Film International.
