Caviar has three films being shot this summer

by

- This summer has turned out to be one of the busiest ever for the Flemish outfit, which is working on finishing no less than three films: Black, Paradise Trips and Alles voor Lena

Caviar has three films being shot this summer

Since June, Raf Reynjens has been filming Paradise Trips, a road movie that sees Mario, a bus driver on the cusp of retirement, agree to drive a group of young people all the way to Croatia for a psychedelic festival. Among them he finds his son, whom he had lost touch with a long time ago... The film, which is co-produced by Climax and Ijswater Films, is being produced with backing from the VAF, the CCA, the Dutch Film Fund and Screen Flanders. The cast includes Gene Bervoets (SalamanderHet Goddelijke Monster) and Jeroen Perceval (Plan Bart [+see also:

, the second film by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah (their feature debut, Image, is due to be released in Belgian cinemas on 5 November). The movie is an adaptation of a best-selling novel by Dirk Bracke, a kind of Romeo and Juliet tale set against a backdrop of rivalries between street gangs in a multicultural Brussels. Originally, it was Hans Herbot (Bo, already a Bracke adaptation, The Treatment [+see also:

) who was down to direct the film and who "entrusted" the project to the two young filmmakers after being persuaded by their passion and motivation. This film is also co-produced by Climax, with backing from the VAF, the CCA and Wallimage/ Bruxellimage.

Caviar’s last shoot of the summer is another feature debut: Alles voor Lena by Lukas Bossuyt. Described as a romantic science-fiction thriller, and set in the near future, Alles voor Lena follows the adventures of a university lecturer (Koen de Graeve) who has found a way of sending e-mails back in time. Needless to say, you don’t just mess around with the past willy-nilly, and while trying to save the love of his life from an accident, the lecturer gets himself caught up in a mind-blowing chain of events. Also featuring in the cast is Mattéo Simoni, who rose to fame in Marina [+see also:

. Shooting has been under way since the start of August within the walls of the prestigious University of Leuven.
