Written by Guillaume Nicloux, the story revolves around Isabelle and Gérard, who lost their son six months ago. However, before he died, he sent them a letter in which he invites them to go to Death Valley, at the very heart of the United States. Despite the apparent absurdity of the situation, the mother and father decide to go there anyway and wait for him...

Produced by Sylvie Pialat and Benoît Quainon for Les Films du Worso, and by Cyril Colbeau-Justin and Jean-Baptiste-Dupont for LGM Cinéma, The Valley of Love is co-produced by DD Productions, France 3 Cinéma and Belgian outfit Scope Pictures. Having been pre-purchased by Canal+, the film is also backed by the CNC’s advance on receipts, and by the Soficinéma, Cinémage, Cofinova and Palatine Etoile Soficas. The shoot will wrap on 27 September. Distribution in France and international sales will be handled by Le Pacte.

Guillaume Nicloux’s next project is apparently Les confins du monde, whose main character is one of the most famous commando leaders from the war in Indochina; it covers a number of military exploits in the Tonkin region over the period 1945-1947. For this project, the filmmaker is set to collaborate once again with producer Les Films du Worso, which is currently enjoying a very prosperous period with (in addition to Nicloux’s films) Stranger by the Lake [+see also:
