film profile] by Carlo Verdone. These are, among the Italian movies distributed in Italy between 1 October 2013 and 30 September 2014, the seven films vying for a nomination to represent Italy at the Oscars for best foreign language film.
The selection committee is made up of Nicola Borrelli, Cinema Managing Director of the Ministry for Culture and Heritage; directors Gianni Amelio and Gabriele Salvatores; producers Tommaso Arrighi and Angelo Barbagallo; journalists Maria Pia Fusco and Niccolò Vivarelli; distributor Barbara Salabé and Caterina 'Amico,Head of the Centre for Experimental Cinematography.It will meet, to choose from the seven nominees, on Wednesday 24 September, at the headquarters of ANICA (National Association of Film, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries), which is representing the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Nominations for the five are forecasted for 15 January 2015, while the award ceremony will take place on 22 February 2015 in Los Angeles.
