Eurimages – the Council of Europe’s Cinema Support Fund – will also attend. By recognising NCN as one of the most important and effective European co-production markets, it will entrust the jury with the task of awarding the Eurimages Co-production Development Award, a cash prize of 30,000 euro for the development of the project that best responds to the criteria for collaboration and co-production inspired by Eurimages.

One of the most significant changes to the 2014 edition, organized by Alexia De Vito with Annalisa Donnarumma and Camilla Donghi, is the Special Mention by UNICEF Italy on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The best upcoming European producer will receive the Cubix Award, a cash prize of 5,000 euro, granted by the company Cubix International to support quality production during the project’s early development phase.

Among the projects selected are those by Italian autori filmmakers Giovanni Maderna (Driftwood Valentine), Fabio Mollo (Ombre Bianche), Alberto Fasulo (Menocchio), Marco Simon Puccioni (Il Metodo Amleto).

In the 2014 official selection, New Cinema Network presents for the first time The Great Beauties: a section dedicated to 8 projects that promote Italy as an ideal partner for films from all over the world, with the aim of implementing and promoting financial opportunities and co-production prospects with Italy.
