IFF Bratislava unveils its full line-up
Stations of the Cross by Dietrich Brüggemann

Hot on the heels of the Viennale, another film festival will get under way shortly on the other side of Danube: the 16th edition of the International Film Festival Bratislava will kick off on 7 November. Commenting on the Stories sidebar, an audience favourite, festival programmer Radovan Holub said: “This year, the section features not only more films by debuting directors, but also more comedies than in previous years. “My goal was to give the Bratislava audience a chance to recognise the ways in which directors from different cultures think. It was not out of pure curiosity, but because this insight into filmmakers’ ideas, subjects and styles enriches our own knowledge – not only our knowledge of filmmaking, but also of our world today,” said the festival’s head programme director, Nenad Dukić, about the main competition, which focuses on debut and sophomore features.
