, which will hit screens on 25 December and boasts a cast including three of the country’s most famous actresses: Agata Kulesza, Krystyna Janda and Karolina Gruszka. The male actors are of a similar calibre, including Adam Woronowicz, Lukasz Simlat and Marian Dziedziel.

All About My Parents is first and foremost a love story. This choice of topic and the comedy vehicle may be surprising coming from Marcin Krzysztalowicz, who has etched himself into audiences’ memories as a director who is partial to “important subjects” and historical dramas. But as the filmmaker stresses, “Distance, irony and genuine laughter are the best remedies to heal past sorrows.”

The plot of the film hinges on the main character (now an adult) as he looks back on the dreams and nightmares of his childhood. In this way, he begins to analyse the subtleties of his parents’ close relationship, which was soon to be turned upside down when a nursery-school teacher arrived on the scene.

Produced by Skorpion Arte, All About My Parents was co-produced by Studio Produkcyjne Orka, Palac Zielona, Efektpol, Toya Studios, Non Stop Film Service, All Muses and Krakowskie Biuro Festiwalowe. The feature, which also received backing from the Polish Film Institute, is distributed in Poland by Kino Swiat
