Scope50, the new project developed by Gutek Film (Poland) and Festival Scope in collaboration with Aero Films (Czech Republic), Stadtkino (Austria), Soda Pictures (UK) and Cinefil Co (Hungary) and supported by EU Creative Europe Audience Development, is intended to rethink the acquisition and the release processes for independent European films, and stimulate audiences. In each country, 50 active film lovers were chosen to build the Scope50 community, watch ten carefully selected films and vote in each country for the best one, which will be released.

“We were surprised and encouraged to further develop the project, when we received hundreds of applications and requests from cinephiles to participate in the first edition of Scope50. What was encouraging for us was also a great support from leading European sales agents who offered their films to participate in our project,” said Gutek Film’s creative director and head of acquisitions, Jakub Duszynski.

“It is super exciting to start a new model for the industry from scratch. This time with Scope50, we will build and project with, and for, the public, together with amazing distributors daring to try something new. It is extremely rewarding,” said Mathilde Henrot and Alessandro Raja, founders of Festival Scope.

For the second edition, Festival Scope and Gutek Film are planning to expand the project by enlarging the number of participating audiences, as well as including new European territories.
