), and based on the book of the same name by Sylvain Tesson, the story revolves around Teddy, who has decided to run away from his own life – a life that is all too superficial, in which he has totally lost his bearings – to go off in search of a breath of fresh air, far from everything. In the midst of winter, he returns to Lake Baikal, where he attempts to find himself, alone in a hut. One evening, as he is lost in a blizzard and at death’s door, he is rescued by Sacha, a Russian man who lives hidden away in a forest. A wonderful story of friendship then blossoms between the two men.

Produced by Philip Boëffard and Christophe Rossignon for Nord-Ouest Films, In the Forests of Siberia is co-produced by France 3 Cinéma and Zephyr Productions. Having been pre-purchased by Canal + and Ciné +, the feature is also backed by Angoa and Procirep. The nine-week shoot will take place in Siberia (Lake Baikal) and in the Paris region. Distribution in France will be handled by ARP Sélection for theatres and by France Télévisions Distribution for video. International sales are managed by Other Angle Pictures.
