with 12 nominations, Nicolae Mărgineanu’s Poarta Albă with six and Radu Gabrea’s A Love Story, Lindenfeld with five nominations.

, also nominated for Best Documentary. It is the first year since 2009 when only three features have been nominated for Best Film and the first Gopo edition since 2008 when only two fiction features are vying for the top award.

The four acting categories are also dominated by Q.E.D., with as many as seven actors and actresses nominated. Thanks to international productions such as Closer to the Moon and The Crypt [+see also:

, several foreign actors and actresses (Vera Farmiga, Mark Strong, Harry Lloyd and Serge Riaboukine) will be in with a chance of winning a Gopo Award.

, which will receive an Audience Award for being the most popular domestic release of 2014, having taken more than 100,000 admissions.

The nominated films were selected from a list of 81 titles (fiction features and shorts, documentary features and shorts) released in Romania or shown at film festivals in 2014. A total of 450 film professionals, critics and journalists will vote over the next few weeks, and the winners will be announced on 30 March.
