Distribuzione Straordinaria is up and running – the new film distribution company will launch its first movie in theatres on 7 May. This title will be Il talento può uccidere, the feature debut by Augusto Zucchi, which stars Rocco Papaleo, Augusto Zucchi and Antonia Liskova, and is a political thriller based on one of the most disturbing cases of intrigue involving the world of show business and the secret service.
Meanwhile, 28 May will see the release of Soundtrack – Oltre ogni ragionevole desiderio by Francesca Marra. The thriller, set against an erotic backdrop, stars Andrea Osvart, Vincenzo Amato and Valentina Lodovini.
Distribuzione Straordinaria aims to contribute to boosting films' visibility, even as early as the pre-production phase. All of the titles being distributed will be available on DCP, satellite and even on 35 mm film, thanks to an agreement with Augustuscolor, in order to also give those theatres that have not yet been digitalised the opportunity to include films from current listings on their programmes, as well as titles still to come.
Distribuzione Straordinaria has also signed a deal with the biggest Maghrebi producers and distributors, the Moroccan, Tunisian and Algerian Cinémathèques and embassies, and will bring a meticulous selection of titles to Italy that have been very successful in their home countries.
This will kick off with Morocco, with Andalousie, mon amour! by Mohamed Nadif (2013), a black but at the same time light-hearted comedy that uses an original spin on the theme of illegal immigration. Following this, Behind Closed Doors by Mohammed Ahed Bensouda (2013), the former assistant to Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Claude Lelouch and Giuseppe Tornatore, will come out in Italian theatres. The movie tackles the topic of stalking, set against a sexual backdrop in the workplace, in which the target is a young woman.
Thanks to the international experience of the management team, Distribuzione Straordinaria also offers a platform for foreign producers wishing to delegate executive production to Italy. Antonio Carloni will be the sales manager of the newly founded distribution company.
