Power to the Pixel (PttP) and the British Council have announced a partnership wherein the Council will offer sixteen awards of £1,500 to producers and company representatives working in cross-platform and interactive media innovation from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela and Uruguay to attend Power to the Pixel: The Cross-Media Forum (13-16 October), held in association with the 59th BFI London Film Festival. The event will host a delegation comprising some 40 Latin American funds, businesses and production companies, including new PttP partners - Argentina’s lead film & media institute INCAA, and Mexico’s Film Institute IMCINE.
PttP CEO Liz Rosenthal said, “Thanks to the generous support of the British Council we’re delighted to enable new partnerships and international collaborations between Latin American companies and the huge range of media companies participating in Power to the Pixel: The Cross-Media Forum.”
Caroline Meaby, senior programme manager with the British Council’s creative economy team, said, “Latin America is a region absolutely bursting with creative energy, so we’re extremely happy to be supporting a delegation of 16 cross-media innovators to attend Power to the Pixel: The Cross-Media Forum in October. Exciting things are afoot across the continent, and we want to help forge new links between digital storytellers and leading lights in the creative industries from both sides of the Atlantic. We believe that helping innovative creative talent prosper will lead to wider cultural and economic benefits for the region.”
