Europa International addresses the digital single market and distribution in Europe
- CANNES 2015: Europa International, the European network gathering together 38 sales agents, held its general assembly in Cannes before the opening of the Cannes Film Festival
Europa International, the European network gathering together 38 sales agents, held its general assembly in Cannes before the opening of the Cannes Film Festival, under the presidency of Susan Wendt from TrustNordisk.
In the framework of its "Set The Trend!" project, supported by Creative Europe, Europa International is proud to announce its annual conference, which will be held at the end of November with Europa Cinemas.
The main discussion was about the digital single market and some related issues for distribution (copyright, licences and passive sales). Europa International insists on working with local distributors and national theatrical releases, and wants to re-emphasise the importance of pre-sales and sales in the financing of films.
The European Commission needs to support, with a substantial budget, sales agents and international distribution, and some trials for digital distribution.
For this 68th edition of the Cannes Film Festival, Europa International is proud to announce the line-up of its members, with 14 films in the official selection, 11 films in Un Certain Regard, nine films in the Critics’ Week, and 13 films in the Directors’ Fortnight.
