German world sales agent Beta Cinema has inked its first deals at the Film Market of the Cannes Film Festival. Among the company’s market premieres is the family entertainment feature Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails [+see also:

The movie was sold to eOne for the US and Canada, Altitude Distribution in Great Britain, Notorious in Italy, and Transmission for Australia and New Zealand. Further sales include to the Middle East, Israel, Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and the former Yugoslavia.

The Sundance Audience Award winner Umrika, with Life of Pi star Suraj Sharma and Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel [+see also:

), was acquired by ARP Selection in France, Ascot Elite for the German-speaking territories, and Vendetta Films for Australia and New Zealand. Umrika was also picked up for Portugal, Poland, Israel, the former Yugoslavia, South Korea and Taiwan.
