. First into production will be How to Sell a War, scripted by Tim Price (theatre’s The Radicalisation of Bradley Manning), directed by Rudolph Herzog (Amundsen – Lost in the Arctic) and produced by Sam Taylor, Mike Downey and Vladimer Katcharava. The film follows a PR woman with a physical disability who gets involved in an artificial crisis in Georgia. Development is being co-financed with Creative England.

Taylor said, “With Creative England’s support, we have assembled a brilliant team for How to Sell a War, a farcical fish out of water story which takes a wry look at the war industry. Playwright Tim Price’s writing is both unique and pure genius, Rudolph Herzog is a vibrant and extraordinary young director and with our long term collaborator Vladimer Katcharava in Georgia, we are going to make something very exciting indeed.”

Next up is Dede, by Mariam Bakacho Khatchvani, where a young woman struggles to make a life in the remote villages high in the Caucasus Mountains and patriarchal laws threaten to separate her from her daughter. The team that includes co-writer and producer Katcharava and co-writer Irakli Solomanashvili have been selected for the Sundance Lab.

The third feature, by Tinatin Kajrishvili (Brides [+see also:
