by Giorgia Cacciatore
- Palestinian filmmaker Sameh Zoabi will direct the movie co-produced by the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Egypt
British production company Sixteen Films, French production/distribution house Le Pacte, Pandora Film in Germany and Egyptian company Film Clinic are joining forces to make Catch the Moon, a comedy-drama set in Gaza.
From an original screenplay by writer Anne Koski-Wood, the film will be directed by internationally acclaimed Palestinian filmmaker Sameh Zoabi; it will be his second feature after Man Without a Cellphone [+see also:

Catch the Moon is a heart-warming comedy about Halim and his father, Issam, and the adversities they go through to provide an impressive dowry to Jasmine, Halim’s future bride, in the complex social and political reality of Palestine.
Independent producer Rebecca O’Brien - a co-founder, together with director Ken Loach and writer Paul Laverty, of the production company Sixteen Films - said she was “thrilled to be working with such a distinguished group of co-producers on this delightful project. Our regular French distributor, Jean Labadie at Le Pacte, was immediately taken with the script and has supported us closely in our search for the right partners for this project. It’s a testament to the quality of the writing and the ideas within the project that partners as strong as Pandora in Germany and Film Clinic in Egypt have decided to come on board.”
The Paris-based distribution, international sales and co-production company Le Pacte, whose latest co-productions are Mia Madre [+see also:
