The Falling is set in a 1969 English girls’ school during a mysterious fainting epidemic and stars Maisie Williams, Greta Scacchi and Florence Pugh. It was produced by Cairo Cannon (Cannon and Morley Productions) and Luc Roeg (Independent Film), and was released by Metrodome in the UK recently. It will be released by Cinedigm in theaters, on digital and on demand in the US later this summer. The film was in official competition at the BFI London Film Festival last year.

Amanda Berry, Chief Executive of BAFTA, said, “Brits to Watch:  The Screenings is an initiative I am incredibly proud of.  By identifying new talent and presenting their work to a wider audience, we help raise their profile outside the UK.  I am delighted that, through our offices in Los Angeles and New York, we are able to showcase Carol Morley, an extremely exciting director, to influential members of the US film industry.”

The series is produced in partnership with British Council, with the support of IMDb, the Academy Circle, and Langham Place Fifth Avenue. Directors featured in the past include Clio Barnard (The Selfish Giant [+see also:
