Anica and Deloitte: the first film observatory is born

ANICA, the National Association of Film, Audiovisual and Multimedia Industries, and Deloitte Financial Advisory Srl have signed a partnership agreement intended to create the first continuous observatory of the cinema and entertainment sector’s extended supply chain in Italy.

The project arose first of all as a result of heeding the demands of professional operators – producers, distributors and the technical industries – regarding information, documentation and training for business decision-making. Indeed, the first phase consists of scouting for informational and service needs, particularly in the theatrical market sector, by means of a questionnaire that will be sent out to all the main companies in the sector over the next few days. The development path then calls for a gradual expansion to conduct an analysis of all aspects of the film/audiovisual chain and of the strategic themes connected to the myriad related markets.

"The aim of the observatory is to develop and guarantee the systematic monitoring of our market,” declared Riccardo Tozzi, president of ANICA, “so as to create a valuable service for the operators in the sector, with specific reference to the independent players. Thanks to the support of Deloitte, which boasts solid experience in the field of cinema and entertainment, we have been able to develop a project that will be crucial for giving our companies an ever-more international perspective."

"The permanent observatory is a very valuable project for operators in the film market,” asserted Luca Petroni, MD of Deloitte Financial Advisory Srl. “The cinema and entertainment sector is one to monitor constantly, and particular attention must be paid to the pronounced transformation of the value chain that is switching from a product-based logic to more of a market-based orientation."
