East Silver Market call for submissions, open until 30 June

The East Silver Market, the first market specialising in Eastern and Central European documentary, invites filmmakers to submit their documentaries for its 11th edition. The registrations are open until 30 June 2015 via the online entry form. All completed documentaries produced/co-produced in the region of Central and Eastern Europe (after 1 January 2014) that have not been previously submitted for the East Silver market are eligible. Submitted films become part of the largest internationally recognised database of documentary films from Central and Eastern Europe. They will appear in the next edition of the printed East Silver catalogue, distributed at the key international documentary festivals. The easy-to-navigate online streaming via the website allows producers to make their titles accessible for professionals from everywhere in the world throughout the year. Films from the East Silver selection can also become part of East Silver Caravan – a supporting distributional service that reaches over 90 prestigious international film festivals and markets.

The submissions will also be valid for the 19th Jihlava IDFF, where the upcoming East Silver Market will take place from 27 October to 1 November 2015. East Silver Video Library will also be held within East Doc Platform, organised by the Institute of Documentary Film in Prague, the Czech Republic, in March 2016, in association with the One World IHRDFF.

Out of the nominees from the 2015 East Silver Market submissions, the Silver Eye Award 2015 international jury of buyers, sales agents and festival selectors will pick and award the best documentaries in three categories: feature, mid-length and short documentary. All winners are granted prize money of €1,500.
