Greece's main documentary festival, the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival, held annually in Thessaloniki every March, has opened its entry forms and is awaiting contenders for its multitude of sections and programmes. The submission deadlines are 4 September for films completed between November 2014 and June 2015, and 27 November for films completed between July 2015 and November 2015.

In addition, films vying for a slot in the festival's main schedule need to be recent productions from the 18 months preceding the festival's dates (18-27 March 2016), and must not have previously been screened or released in Greece.

Aiming to introduce and promote the most important documentary productions worldwide, and to create an international forum for the presentation and discussion of emerging media and information technologies, the Thessaloniki Documentary Festival features a vivid market section, which every year holds a plethora of market talks, master classes and workshops, along with the annual EDN Pitching Forum and myriad opportunities for film professionals from both the artistic and the business branches to meet and mingle.

Filmmakers interested in participating in the gathering's call for entries will need to submit their films either online, through the link found on the festival’s official webpage, or through regular mail, sent to the festival's headquarters in Athens. In either case, the festival will need to receive either an online screener or a set of two DVD copies of the film, along with a completed entry form and payment of the €20 entry fee.

Films aiming to participate in the festival's programme can be DCP, 35 mm, Beta tape (Digital Beta and Beta SP) and/or HDCAM, with no running-time limitations. Entrants whose films are chosen will be notified soon after the selection.
