Founded in 2003 in a spirit of investing in the cross-border dimension of co-production, the Rendez-vous de la Coproduction Rhénane (Rhineland Co-production Meeting) gets bigger and bigger ever year, and the 2015 edition will gather together around 100 French- and German-speaking producers today and tomorrow in Strasbourg – 40 of whom will come bearing projects (fictions and documentaries for cinema, television or transmedia) – in addition to broadcasters, support funds and distributors hailing from France, Germany, Switzerland, Luxembourg and Belgium.

Standing out among the projects in search of partners is Der Fuchs by German director Matthias Luthardt (who rose to fame with Pingpong [+see also:

in the Cannes Critics’ Week in 2006). Based on the work by DH Lawrence, the screenplay, written by Sebastian Bleyl, is set in Alsace in 1914. Two women live tucked away in a remote part of the countryside. They welcome in a soldier who has deserted. This stranger will first of all become their friend, then their lover, and eventually an unpredictable threat... The project is staged by Oliver Damian for 27 Films Production.

Also of note is a project being produced by Swiss outfit Box Productions: Joy by Mathieu Urfer. The director turned heads with Pause [+see also:

, which was screened on the Piazza Grande at last year’s Locarno Film Festival and was nominated in the category of Best Film of the Year at the 2015 Swiss Film Awards, among other categories.
