European Film Festival Palić to include the world premiere of Veiko Õunpuu's Roukli

"The big festivals are good for the business. This film has nothing to do with business. I mean, we’re happy if a lot of people see it or if it makes money, but then again, it is not a film for all the people, and small IS beautiful," says Õunpuu, whose last film, Free Range [+see also:

, world-premiered in the Berlinale Forum. "You see, we have no obligations with this film to do anything we don’t want to. We are completely free to just have fun."

Tiina Savi, the producer of the film, says: "When Palić Festival programmer Petar Mitrić saw the film at Cannes, he was very moved and immediately asked if there was a tiny little chance to show it at Palić. We were very touched by his sincere reaction, and it was an easy decision to hold the premiere here at a festival that has been very loyal to Veiko’s work throughout the years. It seems ridiculous to deny a festival a film because of some 'rules of the big film-business game'."

Opening the festival, Roy Andersson and Želimir Žilnik will receive the Aleksandar Lifka Award for Contribution to European Film, followed by the screening of The Here After [+see also:
