Nick Hornby, Jimmy McGovern amongst speakers at BAFTA BFI Lecture Series

- Five internationally acclaimed screenwriters to speak between September 23 and October 3
Britons Nick Hornby (An Education [+see also:
film profile]) and Jimmy McGovern (television’s The Street), Americans Nancy Meyers (It’s Complicated) and Beau Willimon (television’s House of Cards), and Australian Andrew Bovell (A Most Wanted Man) will share their expertise during the sixth annual British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and the BFI (British Film Institute) Lecture Series in London between September 23 and October 3. The writers have a wealth of BAFTA, Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe wins and nominations between them.
Screenwriter Jeremy Brock producer Andrea Calderwood, part of the BAFTA-winning team behind The Last King of Scotland [+see also:
film profile] program this year’s season. Brock said, “Each year, the Screenwriters’ Lecture Series brings the importance of the screenwriters’ role into sharp focus. Through their original ideas and adaptations, this season’s esteemed speakers have helped bring to the screen stories that have touched our hearts, cheered our souls, and made us think.”
