Written by the director and Frédéric Ciriez, with the collaboration of Maud Ameline, the script centres on Marc Châtaigne, an intern at the Ministry of Standards who is sent to French Guiana to implement European construction standards at Guyaneige: the first Amazonian ski slope, intended to boost tourism in French Guiana. There, he meets Tarzan, an attractive intern at the National Forestry Office, with whom he’ll get lost on a journey through the jungle that will take him far, far away...

Produced by Alice Girard for Rectangle Productions, Struggle for Life is receiving support from co-productions companies France 3 Cinéma, Orange Studio (who has bought all of the rights) and the Belgian company Scope Pictures. As well as having been pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film is also backed by the CNC ‘advance on earnings’, the Gan Foundation for cinema, the French Guianaregion, and Sofica Cofinova, Cinemage, Soficinema and Cineventure. The filming will take place in French Guiana until 28 August (where line production will be handled by Aldabra Films) before continuing from 2-8 September in the Ile-de-France region, and finishing up with a day in England in October. The film’s French distribution will be coordinated by Haut et Court and international sales by Be for Films.
