Ventoux, an adaptation of Bert Wagendorp’s novel of the same name, published in 2013, is the story of four men, old friends, who decide to climb Mont Ventoux, as they had done decades before. Their trip to the top becomes a journey that raises questions from the past and the present.

Starring Kasper van Kooten, Wilfried de Jong, Leopold Witte, Wim Opbrouck and Maruschka Detmers, Ventoux was produced by Hans de Wolf for Amsterdam-based Key Film along with Belgian outfit Prime Time.

Van Kilsdonk said: "I am really delighted that we have reached 100,000 viewers; it is a great gift for our fine cast and crew."

Besides the Golden Film label, the Netherlands Film Fund and the Netherlands Film Festival also give out the Platinum and the Diamond Film labels, intended to reward Dutch productions that attract over 400,000 and one million moviegoers, respectively.
