- A star-studded cast for the new film by the director of The Immature: Giuseppe Battiston, Anna Foglietta, Marco Giallini, Edoardo Leo, Valerio Mastandrea, Alba Rohrwacher and Kasia Smutniak
Filming has started in Rome, in an apartment in the Parioli quarter, on the new film by Paolo Genovese (The Immature [+see also:

film profile]). Produced by Marco Belardi of Lotus Production for Medusa Film, Perfetti sconosciuti [+see also:
film profile] brings together a star-studded cast featuring Giuseppe Battiston, Anna Foglietta, Marco Giallini, Edoardo Leo, Valerio Mastandrea, Alba Rohrwacher and Kasia Smutniak.
The film was born from an original story by Paolo Genovese, who also wrote the screenplay with Filippo Bologna, Paolo Costella, Paola Mammini, and Rolando Ravello (the director of No Place like Home [+see also:
interview: Rolando Ravello
film profile] and Ti ricordi di me? [+see also:
film profile]) and will tell the story of the lives of others seen through a smartphone. The pretext is as follows: each of us has three lives: one public, one private and one secret. Once upon a time our secret lives were safely locked away in the archives or our memories, today they are locked away on our sim cards. If that tiny piece of plastic could talk, what would it say?
The film, which will be distributed in theatres next February by Medusa Film, is presented as a light comedy about friendship, love and betrayal, with a bitter and slightly cynical reflection that leads four couples of friends to look at one another and realise they are ‘perfect strangers’. Filming is set to last six weeks and will all take place in a Roman home.
