Cottbus reveals its feature-film competition

The Cottbus Festival of East European Cinema has announced the feature-film competition for its 25th edition, which runs from 3-8 November.

A total of €77,750 will be awarded to the prize-winners, with €42,500 going to the feature-film competition. The main Award for Best Film, donated by the Gesellschaft zur Wahrnehmung von Film- und Fernsehrechten (GWFF), will be valued at €25,000 in celebration of the festival’s 25th anniversary.

The jury will consist of five filmmakers from five different countries and generations: Želimir Žilnik from Serbia, Ineke Smits from the Netherlands, Andreas Kleinert from Germany, Aida Begić from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Visar Morina from Kosovo.

Besides the festival’s co-production market, connecting cottbus, which Cineuropa will cover in detail, other programmes at Cottbus include the Short Film Competition, the U18 German-Polish Youth Film Competition, Spectrum, National Hits, Russian Day, Polish Horizons, globalEAST, a Focus on Eastern Europe by Cities, Home | Domownja, Children Film and Cottbus FilmShow.
