Written by the director, the plot revolves around two characters, Georges and Mavie, and is set in the streets of Paris. Mavie is 27 years old. Clumsy and full of doubt, she naively and anxiously tries to find her place in the world. Georges is 76 years old. Hidden away in his bookshop, he is antisocial and fed up with the world, he no longer wants nor expects anything from life. The two come together in the most beautiful and unlikely of couples. He wants nothing, she wants everything. And yet it is thanks to him that she manages to find her identity, and thanks to her that he rediscovers life. The love that they will never physically experience together is beautiful and moving. But soon Georges must go, and the inevitable happens…

Produced by Janja Kralj for KinoElektron, Strange Birds is being co-produced by Reborn Production (Marc Simoncini). Angelo Laudisa is associate producer and the film is being backed by Arte Cofinova. Distribution in France will be handled by Shellac.
