- The Academy has unveiled the list of 20 films shortlisted for Best Live-Action and Best Animated Short at the upcoming Oscars

Seven European productions and co-productions (involving the United Kingdom, France, Belgium, Germany and Austria) are among the ten films pre-selected for next year’s Oscar for Best Live-Action Short Film, whilst two (one French and one British) are among the ten pre-selected for Best Animated Short Film.

The nominations will be announced on 14 January and the 88th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on 28 February 2016.
