, from his own script. Considine will play a boxing world champion in the twilight of his career who takes on a last bout in order to cash out and spend time with his young family. After an epic fight, he returns home only to collapse into a coma due to a delayed reaction from his opponent’s punch. When he wakes up, the real battle begins. The cast also includes Jodie Whittaker (One Day), Faraz Ayub (Honour), Tony Pitts (War Horse) and Paul Popplewell (’71 [+see also:

Financing comes from Film4, the British Film Institute, Screen Yorkshire and the Wellcome Trust. StudioCanal has picked up the UK rights, while Cornerstone Films is handling international sales and is representing the film at the ongoing European Film Market in Berlin. Considine’s Tyrannosaur producer Diarmid Scrimshaw will fulfil the same duties on Journeyman.

Scrimshaw said, “Journeyman is another world-class project from Paddy; it’s got strength, authenticity and is a compelling triumph-over-adversity story. We’re really excited to be in the process of creating another tour de force film with Paddy.”

Cornerstone’s Alison Thompson and Mark Gooder said, “We’ve long been admirers of Paddy’s work as an actor, and his directing debut in the remarkable Tyrannosaur made him a filmmaker to watch. We couldn’t be more excited to be associated with his next feature. Journeyman is powerful, provocative and moving – precisely the kind of film we want Cornerstone Films to be part of.”
