Picturehouse and Altitude acquire UK rights for Alone in Berlin

Picturehouse Entertainment and Altitude Film Distribution have acquired the UK distribution rights to Vincent Perez’s Alone in Berlin [+see also:
film profile], screening in competition at the Berlin Film Festival. Starring Emma Thompson, Brendan Gleeson and Daniel Brühl, the film is a true-life drama-thriller set in Second World War Berlin, based on the international bestseller Every Man Dies Alone / Alone In Berlin by acclaimed German novelist Hans Fallada.
Alone In Berlin is produced by Stefan Arndt (Amour [+see also:

film profile]) of X Filme Creative Pool and Uwe Schott (Cloud Atlas [+see also:
film profile]), Marco Pacchioni (Bye Bye Blondie [+see also:
film profile]) of Master Movies (France), James Schamus (Brokeback Mountain), and Christian Grass and Paul Trijbits (Jane Eyre [+see also:
film profile]) of FilmWave (UK). Michael Scheel (Inglourious Basterds [+see also:
film profile]) is executive producer, and Cornerstone Films is handling international sales.
Trijbits and Grass together with Alison Thompson from Cornerstone Films negotiated the deal between Altitude’s Entertainment’s Will Clarke and Picturehouse’s Clare Binns.
