The film will look at the evacuation of hundreds of thousands Allied troops from the beach and harbour of Dunkirk, France, after being hemmed in by the German army in 1940 during World War II. Code-named Operation Dynamo, the safe evacuation of most of the troops prompted then British Prime Minister Winston Churchill to make his famous “We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender,” speech in the British Parliament.
