Written by Lidia Terki and Colo Tavernier (who won the César for Best Adaptation in 1985 for A Sunday in the Country and was nominated in 1988 for the César for Best Original Screenplay for Beatrice, two films by Bertrand Tavernier with whom she also wrote Story of Women and The Bait), the story centres around Rekia, who, having not received news of her husband in years, leaves her village in Kabylie for the first time and travels across Algeria then France to bring him back to his homeland. But Nour, her husband, who she finds in the Parisian suburbs in a centre for elderly migrant workers, this man who fought the Maquis, her hero, is no longer the man she knew…

Produced by Jan Vasak, Alexandre Charlet and Virginie Sauveur for Day for Night Productions, Paris blanche has been pre-purchased by Ciné+ and is being supported by an advance on receipts from the CNC, the Île-de-France region and the Doha Film Institute​. The distribution of the film in France will be handled by ARP Sélection​ and sales by Doc & Film International.
