by Tobias Nölle has won the Crystal Larch (Kristal-Lärche) at the third edition of the Saas-Fee Filmfest (which wrapped on 3 April after five days of intense screenings), which means the movie has now pocketed three awards so far (basically one prize for every festival it has screened at) – indisputably a great result!

The jury, comprising Swiss director Ursula Meier, Austrian actor Andreas Lust and the multifaceted Sigrid Andersson (an actress, director and film coach from Berlin who, in a new addition this year, led an acting workshop during the festival), decided to award the Saas-Fee Filmfest’s top prize to an “impressive debut film in which the astonishing cinematography made up of soft, crepuscular tones combines with the inventive use of sound to breathe life into a unique sensory experience”.

Meanwhile, the Critics’ Award, for which the jury was made up of journalists Madeleine Hirsiger (Switzerland) and Andreas Busche (Germany), flanked by Italian film critic Tommaso Tocci, was bestowed upon Berlin-born Nicolette Krebitz and her film Wild [+see also:

by German artist AKIZ went home with the Audience Award and a Special Mention from the Filmmakers Jury.

With its nine films in competition, hailing from Switzerland and its four neighbouring countries (Austria, Germany, France and Italy), framed by a breathtakingly beautiful Alpine setting, this third edition of the Saas-Fee Filmfest proved to be a dynamic event with a warm atmosphere.
