Year after year, it’s simply an indisputable fact: the Málaga Spanish Film Festival gets better with every new edition (the next one – the 19th – will be held between 22 April and 1 May). Its rich selection of titles is complemented by activities that enhance the appeal of this event, which has been able to reinvent itself – in a good way. This promising edition is topped off by four special screenings, a tribute to the classic movie Lovers: A True Story by the great Vicente Aranda, a commitment to documentary with various titles in the official competition section in addition to special screenings (as well as the hosting of the fourth Documentary Film Meeting in Málaga), a commemoration of the work of Fernando Fernán Gómez with a showing of the legendary Bruja, más que bruja, the Málaga Premieres, honorary awards for Gracia Querejeta, Teresa Font, Emilio Gutiérrez Caba, Paz Vega and Santi Amodeo, plus the titles from the Territorio Latinoamericano section, which offers an overview of the recent crop of Hispanic productions.
