(The article continues below - Commercial information)

Shot in Brussels, L’Economie du Couple boasts a cast including Bérénice Bejo, Cédric Kahn, Marthe Keller, Jade and Margaux Soentjens. After ten years of living together, Marie and Thierry split up. She was the one who originally bought the flat they live in with their two children, but it was him who carried out the renovations on it. With Thierry unable to afford another place to live, they are forced to continue living together. On the day of reckoning, each tries to hold on to what they think they contributed to their life together.

L’Economie du Couple is another co-production between Versus Production and Les Films du Worso, with backing from the CCA, Wallimage and the Tax Shelter. It was co-produced by RTBF and BeTv-Voo, and it will be distributed in Benelux by O’Brother Distribution and in France by Le Pacte, which is also in charge of its international sales.

Versus is also making a comeback to the Fortnight, as it had already taken part with Private Lessons, as well as with Eldorado [+see also:

Moreover, we should highlight that Belgian co-productions are really on a roll. Besides the films produced by Les Films du Fleuve and Entre Chien et Loup that have been selected in the official selection (read the article), we also find Raw [+see also:

Lastly, to round off the Belgian presence at Cannes, we should point out Nicolas Rinçon Gilles’ selection in the Cinéfondation Atelier.
