A promising second edition of Filmadrid gets off to a flying start
Night Without Distance by Lois Patiño

One year ago, Madrilenians were celebrating the birth of Filmadrid and its resounding success – and today they can rejoice once again, because the second instalment of the event has now got under way: from 2-11 June, the Spanish capital will screen 60 titles that know no fear. Across the various sections, audiences will be able to watch titles born of the most militant indie spirit, such as John From [+see also:

Among the activities on the menu at Filmadrid 2016, we should highlight the live actions that are aimed at getting the public involved, and which are masterminded by high-profile men of film such as Lluis Miñarro, Javier Rebollo, Takashi Makino and Luis López Carrasco, who form part of the jury of the official section, together with French programmer Lili Hinstin and US critic Jonathan Rosenbaum. The latter will helm a chat with journalist Carlos F Heredero entitled “Movie Mutations: The Changing Model of US Cinema”.
