EFP’s Future Frames to grace Karlovy Vary once again

On the invitation of European Film Promotion and the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (1-9 July), ten European film students and graduates present their films as part of the programme Future Frames - Ten New Filmmakers to Follow during two festival days, from 4 to 5 July.

This year, acclaimed Belgian director Felix van Groeningen – fresh from receiving the World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award for Belgica [+see also:

at the Sundance Film Festival – will be the mentor for the young participants. The director will share his wide-ranging experience in filmmaking – including a masterclass on occasion of the Karlovy Vary screening of his new feature film. His exceptional commitment is part of an intensive programme introducing the emerging professionals to the media and the film industry and presenting their work to the festival audience.

The films selected for this year’s Future Frames are: Maria Luz Olivares Capelle’s Forest of Echoes (Film Academy Vienna, Austria), Karen Vázquez Guadarrama’s Flower Of A Thousand Colours (KASK School of Arts, Belgium), Tonći Gaćina’s Tourism! (Academy of Dramatic Art Zagreb, Croatia), Davit Pirtskhalava’s Father (Artschool Royal District Theater, Georgia), Clemens Pichler’s Diorama (Hochschuhle für Fernsehen und Film München, Germany), Rebecca Figenschau’s Elephant Skin (Westerdals, Norway), Klara Kochańska’s Tenants (The Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School in Lodz, Poland), Roxana Stroe’s A Night In Tokoriki (The National University of Theatre and Cinema “I. L. CARAGIALE”, Romania), Ahmed Abdullahi’s Francis (Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts, Sweden) and Julia Furer’s Julian (Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Switzerland).
