by Cordula Kablitz-Post, about the titular psychoanalyst and feminist, who was one of Freud’s students and one of Rilke’s lovers. The Creative Energy Award (€5,000) singled out screenwriters Michael Proehl and Holger Karsten Schmidt for the gripping thriller Das weiße Kaninchen by Florian Schwarz, in which a 13-year-old girl believes she has met a 16-year-old boy online, but in actual fact she has got overly friendly with a fortysomething teacher and father.

by Anne Zohra Berrached, a drama about the doubts experienced by a mother who is expecting a disabled child, which was unveiled in competition at the most recent Berlin Film Festival, pocketed the AOK Award (€5,000), intended for a movie that addresses a health-related subject in a fresh, original way.

The jury for the East Frisia Award for Best Short Film gave first place to Operator by Caroline Bartleet (United Kingdom), followed by Samira by Charlotte Rolfes (Germany), and then Home Suite Home by Jeroen Houben (the Netherlands) in third place.

This year, 24,300 visitors graced the Filmfest Emden-Norderney with their presence. The event’s director, Rolf Eckard, remarked, “Not only did we exceed the great result from last year (23,500 viewers), but we also beat the record from the 25th edition (24,000).”
