In partnership with KVIFF, the LUX Film Prize and the Creative Europe Desk Munchen, Europa Distribution is organising an open panel entitled "AB…D?  Where is Cinema in Todays' European Education and How Can We  Develop the Millennials' Taste for the Silver Screen" Distributors and experts from the field will discuss the general framework for film education in Europe today: what is happening in different countries and what are the best practices that could be adapted elsewhere? Is there a possibility for a European model? How can the audience of tomorrow flourish through film literacy?

This public panel will take place on Monday 4 July, from 10:00am to 12:00. Panelists confirmed are Linda Arbanova (Aerosol), Claus Hjorth (With the School in the Cinema), Michael Jahn (SchulKinoWoche), Federico Spoletti (Fred@School), Mark Higham (Film Literacy Europe) and Matteo Solaro (Head of sector, TV, Audience and Innovation, EACEA). The panel will be moderated by Michael Gubbins (SampoMedia) and a keynote speech will be given by member of European Parliament Bogdan Wenta, while the Coordinator of the LUX Film Prize Doris Pack will give the final summary note.

After a fruitful first experience during Europa Distribution's San Sebastián workshop in 2015, the association and the EFADs will meet during a common session in Karlovy Vary, where distributors and representatives from various European film agencies will discuss the current situation of Film Education and try to find common strategies to foster the participation of school-age children to European film culture.

Attending distributors will also participate to the festival activities, including works in progress, meetings and special screenings.
