Written by Romain Levy, Rémy Four, Julien War and Mathieu Oullion, the story centres around Ruben, Durex and Nora, three students in their final year at university. Owing to a lack of confidence, Ruben has already failed his exams once. The same goes for Nora, who he daren’t reveal his true feelings to. And it’s not Durex, his childhood friend and the most annoying guy in the world, who’s going to help him out… When he finds out that Nora is also a drug dealer and that she’s going to Amsterdam to bring back a brand new type of drug, Ruben plucks up the courage to go with her. This trip to Amsterdam is the perfect opportunity to finally seduce Nora, but unluckily for him, Durex ends up tagging along too. Whilst the three of them set about exploring the craziest capital in Europe, things get downright complicated when they realise that the drug they’re there to pick up belongs to the biggest criminals in Amsterdam…Ruben, Durex and Nora quickly realise that to get their lives back, they must stop being morons and step up to become real heroes.

Produced by Alain Attal for Les Productions du Trésor, Gangsterdam is being co-produced by StudioCanal, France 2 Cinéma, and the Dutch and Belgian subsidiaries of Lunanime. The film has been pre-purchased by M6Canal+ and Ciné+, and is also notably being supported by the Netherlands Film Production Incentive. After five weeks in Amsterdam, filming will move to Paris between 1 and 27 August. Distribution in France and international sales are being handled by StudioCanal.
