A family trip to Croatia to celebrate Swedish housewife Inger’s 60th birthday seemed like a good idea, until she found out that her husband was having an affair. Nevertheless, her grown-up daughters, Malin and Tove, continue with the plan and decide to go with her; but Inger (Suzanne Reuter) is still unhappy when the charter plane leaves to whisk them away on their holiday.

“The script for All Inclusive by Swedish director Karin Fahlén is one of the best screenplays I've read – Inger is a character I have longed to see, and now I am going to play her,” said Reuter, who co-stars with Jennie Silfverhjelm and Liv Mjönes, in a cast also including Croatian actor Goran Bogdan (HBO’s The Last Panthers), Jonas Karlsson, Jacob Ericksson and Shebly Niavarani.

Based on Danish screenwriter Mette Heeno’s script, which was originally set on Malta and filmed by Danish director Hella Joof (2014’s All Inclusive [+see also:

), the Swedish version has been written by Daniel Karlsson and will be the first feature staged by Swedish producers Anna Croneman and Anna Anthony’s new Stockholm-based company, Avanti Film.

Once in Croatia, it does not take long before the sisters' rivalry for the mother’s attention turns into a race to see who can best comfort her. Malin thinks massages and stylish excursions are what Inger needs, while Tove has a completely different solution – to liven things up, she pays her one-night stand, bartender Antonio, to take her mum out on a date. The problems start to pile up…

All Inclusive is a bold and contemporary relationship comedy that balances humour and seriousness in a way that really takes you to profound places,” explained Fahlén. “We feel we have really found a film that we have been lacking in Swedish cinemas,” added producers Croneman and Anthony. “Avanti Film wants to tell relevant stories that engage a broad audience.”
