Costume drama in Sannio

25/06/2003 - There is just one festival in Europe celebrating the work of set and costume designers, and it’s Italian: the Sannio Film festival. The 7th edition of which will unroll in Sant’ Agata de’Goti in Benevento (south Italy) from 4-13 July.
This year’s five nominees for the best film Capitelli d’Oro award are Prendimi l'anima by Roberto Faenza, Pinocchio [trailer] by Roberto Benigni, El Alamein by Enzo Monteleone, Il cuore altrove by Pupi Avati, Un viaggio chiamato amore [trailer] by Michele Placido and Il quaderno della spesa by Tonino Cervi.
The event also features all the usual retrospectives dedicated to outstanding professionals in this field plus a special tribute to Alberto Sordi which consists in a exhibit of some of the costumes from his most celebrated films. Sannio will also launch the first edition of a Campus for training new industry professionals, and an international competition for 15 scholarships.
