Following a unanimous decision by the international jury, the Golden Angel, the top prize at the 14th Tofifest Festival in Toruń, was awarded to Toni Erdmann [+see also:

during the closing ceremony on Saturday night. The trophy was presented to director Maren Ade and German production outfit Komplizen Film.

The winner of the Silver Angel, the Award for Best Director in the On Air official competition, was young French filmmaker Morgan Simon, for A Taste of Ink [+see also:

, which also took home an accolade given out by the Young Jury. Meanwhile, the Student Jury chose to crown Zoology [+see also:

The Golden Angel in the Lokalizacje programme, dedicated to films connected to the Toruń region, was bestowed upon End of the World by Monika Pawluczuk. We should also point out that in the international competition for short films, victory was claimed by the Oscar-winning British title Stutterer by Benjamin Cleary, while three Special Mentions went to Timecode by Juanjo Giménez Peña (Spain), Empire by Kristof Hoornaert (Belgium), and 4:15 PM The End of the World by duo Gabi Virginia Sarga and Catalin Rotaru (Romania). 

Also among the main winners at the 14th edition of Tofifest were actor Andrzej Seweryn (who recently toplined The Last Family) and Oscar-winning production designer Allan Starski (who has worked for such big names as Wajda, Holland, Polanski and Spielberg), who picked up Special Golden Angels for Lifetime Achievement. Three further Special Golden Angels, this time for artistic insolence, went to directors Wojciech Smarzowski and Erik Poppe as well as actor Marek Kondrat. Last of all, two Flisak Awards, which serve to acknowledge film professionals with ties to the region, were bestowed upon actress Katarzyna Zak and director Remigiusz Zawadzki
